Terms

The simple version.

A short, plain agreement between you and the people who make HeyFamily. We've tried to keep it in language a tired parent can read in five minutes.

Draft notice. This is a plain-language draft. The final, lawyer-reviewed version will be in place before App Store submission. Until then, it represents our intent — not a binding legal document.

The very short version

  • Use HeyFamily for its intended purpose — being a parent.
  • Don't try to break the app or use it to hurt other people.
  • What you write down is yours. We don't claim it.
  • The app is provided as-is. We do our best, but it's not a medical or safety tool.
  • Either of us can end this any time, with no drama.

Who this is between

“HeyFamily”, “we”, and “us” mean Aurenia Group, the company behind the app. “You” means the person using HeyFamily. By installing the app or creating an account, you're agreeing to these terms.

Using the app

You can use HeyFamily for personal, non-commercial parenting use. You agree not to:

  • Use the app for anything illegal or to harm a child or anyone else.
  • Try to reverse-engineer, scrape, or break the app.
  • Resell, sublicense, or repackage the app or its content.
  • Pretend to be someone you're not when creating an account.

You must be at least 18 to create an account. HeyFamily is for parents and primary caregivers — it is not designed for direct use by children.

Your account

Keep your login details to yourself. If someone else gets into your account, write to support@aureniagroup.com and we'll help you lock it down.

What you write down

Anything you create in HeyFamily — moments, notes, kid profiles — is yours. You own it. We don't claim a license to it, sell it, or train models on it.

To make the app work, we need a narrow technical permission to store and display your content back to you (and to your linked partner, if you've enabled sharing for that specific moment). That permission ends when you delete the content or close your account.

Subscriptions

The core app is free to use. We offer an optional paid subscription that unlocks a deeper activity library and household sync features.

  • Subscriptions are billed through the App Store or Google Play, on the schedule shown when you subscribe.
  • They auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies — we can't process them directly.
  • If we change subscription pricing or what's included, we'll tell you in the app before the next renewal.

The activity library and nudges

The activities and nudges in HeyFamily are suggestions, not professional advice. They're intended for typically-developing children in safe contexts. You know your kid best — use your judgement, and skip anything that doesn't fit.

HeyFamily is not medical, psychological, safety, or emergency advice. If you're worried about your child's wellbeing, talk to a real professional.

Things we can't guarantee

We try hard. The app may still occasionally have bugs, downtime, or features that don't work the way you expected. HeyFamily is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind beyond those required by law.

To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (which is zero, if you're using the free version).

Ending the relationship

You can stop using HeyFamily and delete your account at any time, from Settings. We'll process the deletion within 30 days.

We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms — typically with a warning and an explanation. If we ever shut down the service entirely, we'll give you notice and a way to export your data.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the app changes meaningfully. When we do, we'll update the “last updated” date above and let you know in the app. If you keep using HeyFamily after a change, you're agreeing to the new version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflicts-of-law rules. Nothing here limits the consumer rights you have in your home country.
